The surface came from a technique Aurora keeps returning to: white frit dropped into deep blue while the glass is still moving, then worked until the two settle. No two runs land the same way.

The spurs along the spine are pulled by hand, one at a time, each one a separate reheat. They are the reason the piece takes an afternoon rather than an hour.
